Marcelo Ertorteguy and Sara Valente are two architects currently based out of NYC that have a passion for the relationships between space and sound. Their latest creation combines two of our favorite things, skate decks and guitars, as the Lap Skate Guitar. Billed as the “intersection between an electric guitar and a skateboard,” the custom made instrument uses a skate deck as a base for a lap guitar complete with tuning pegs, frets, pick-up, bridge, tremolo and a volume knob. The only thing missing is a whammy bar, but that wouldn’t really fit with the mellow sound the Lap Skate Guitar provides. As you might have already guessed, this is a one-off production and is not currently available for sale.
