When it comes to the desk in your home or office, a lot of the requirements and features are going to depend on what you’re using it for. If you’re an artist, the Risko Modular Drawing Desk is probably as close to the perfect desk as you’ll get. Conceived of by Viarco (one of the oldest pencil manufacturers in Europe) and Digitalab (a multidisciplinary design firm), Risko is an oak drawing desk that allows designers and artists to “save over 25 meters of graphic creativity” using a rolling spindle of paper that stretches across the top of the desk. And when it comes time to create, two enormous drawers hold everything from pens and pencils to reference materials and other supplies for easy access. Unfortunately, the award-winning Risko drawing desk is not yet available for purchase, so you’ll have to stick with the tried and true stack of paper and flat surface for the moment.

Unzip your coat and have some mulled wine on the house—you’ve arrived at your final gifting destination: The Holiday Gift Guide. It’s like your friendly neighborhood one-stop holiday shop, except instead of balsa wood ornaments, ours is packed with thoughtful gifts for everyone on your list. Future heirlooms, small-but-significant stocking stuffers, and gear for getting out there (or staying in)—are all right here. There’s no music playing in the background though, so you’ll just have to hum Bing Crosby while you click around instead.
