“Learning Thermostats” might seem like they’re equipped with neural net processors and built by Cyberdyne, but Nest did a fantastic enough job with the first iterations to get acquired by Google. Now there’s a 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat that is even more feature rich, and thinner, than the previous models. With a 40% larger, high-resolution screen Nest can now be seen from across the room whether it’s displaying your current temperature or an analog/digital clock face. They call it Farsight, which also makes Nest light up when you walk in the room. With an average savings of 10-15% on heating and 15% on cooling, it can even pay for itself in under 2 years.
