Hands-On: Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones

Anyone who has had more than one iPhone probably has a collection of ear buds laying around. Now we are certain that Apple did a fine job with them but a true lover of music should probably invest in a decent set of studio quality cans like the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ears.

What is it?

Exactly what you would expect from a top brand like Sennheiser, the Momentum On-Ear is the younger brother of the Momentum Over-Ear.

Who is it made for?

Coming in just below $200, the Momentum On-Ear is definitely well-suited to an audiophile on a budget.

How does it feel?

Perfect. The ear cups offer infinite adjustability combined with the buttery smooth Alcantara fabric on the ear padding and headband. Plus, if vanity is your thing, you can now say that your headphones share the same fabric as the seats in a Porsche GT3.

What we liked:

The sound quality was excellent with a nice balance between the lows and highs. And the design is fantastic, pairing a subtle ivory with the tan Alcantara.

What we didn’t like:

Since it is an on-ear can, a fair amount of outside noise can still be heard.

Coolest feature:

As someone who has ripped headphone cables out, we definitely dug the detachable cord that Sennheiser claims is unbreakable.

Would we Buy it?

Yep without a doubt. The style and design is on point and the sound quality is great.
