Historic Jeeps up for Auction in Monaco

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique (aka the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco or the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, depending on your source) is a series of races focused on historic motorsport that takes place two weeks before the annual Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco. RM Sotheby’s Quattroruote auction focuses on similarly historic automobiles and features everything from a pre-1900’s Ferrari Children’s Spider carriage (designed to be pulled by a goat) to the military Jeeps you see here. The 1942 Willys MB Military Jeep, 1942 Ford GPW Military Jeep and the 1962 Fiat 1101A Campagnola are each iconic vehicles in their own right, representing the “joyous liberation of Italy by the Allies” in the case of the two American Jeeps, or the fact that the Fiat is essentially a one own car. Each one of these vehicles is a piece of history you can drive.
