Wu-Tang’s Secret Album “The Wu – Once Upon a Time In Shaolin…” Will Cost Over $1 Million

Apparently, over the course of the last few years, in between soundtracks and samurai movies, the members of Wu-Tang recorded an album in secret. It’s called The Wu – Once Upon a Time In Shaolin…, and it’s probably never going to be music that you can listen in the comfort of your own home. The album consists of 31 new tracks exclusively recorded with the entire Wu-Tang Clan and housed in a hand carved nickel-silver box designed by British Moroccan artist Yahya. There will be no initial major label launch. There will not be an initial digital release. Or a streaming release. Or a record store day release. There is only one copy of the entire album in existence and it will be sold to a single entity for a price reportedly in the millions. Before that, though, it’s going on tour like a piece of fine art where you’ll be able to pay to listen to it on their headphones. It’s a whole new way of thinking when it comes to music as art.
