DVD Netflix

While we’re all for binge-watching the latest Netflix releases streamed right to our TV, tablet or phone, there are plenty of awesome titles in the catalog that you can only get the old-fashioned way, on DVD. Netflix finally launched a new app that replaces the old app functionality and allows you to manage your disc queue on the go. You’ll still obviously need to get the discs and put them in a DVD player, but now you can make sure what you want to watch is waiting for you when you get home. iOS

Bully: Anniversary Edition

In honor of the recent 10 year anniversary of the game, Rockstar just released Bully: Anniversary Edition for iOS and Android. This revamped version includes enhanced graphics, modern device support and a new Friend Challenges mode–along with all of the schoolyard shenanigans that made the mischievous adventures of teenager Jimmy Hopkins a hit for Rockstar Games in the first place. Bust out a slingshot, get in a fist fight and eventually end up in the Principal’s Office as you relive this great hit. iOS | Android

GeoPickle

Unlike apps that are versions of other apps for different stuff, GeoPickle tackles the geolocation-based, photo-sharing, pseudo social network differently than everyone else. It’s sort of like digital geocaching or a time-lapse treasure hunt. Plant a picture “seed” on the map, or find a spot that already exists. GeoPickle will guide you and give you a transparent overlay to find the perfect angle. Upload your shot to the “Pickle.” Once that’s all done, you can view your shot as part of an ever evolving time-lapse anyone can be a part of. iOS | Android

DuoBook

If you’re a voracious reader that doesn’t want to be encumbered by a book or tied solely to reading with your eyes, you’re going to want DuoBook. Designed and built by audiobook lovers, DuoBook allows you to seamlessly switch between a traditional eBook experience and an audiobook with high-quality professional narration. The only titles currently available are a special collection of Sherlock Holmes stories because the app is still in its infancy, but it shows serious promise for those of us that like to switch between reading and listening. iOS

Apple Support

There’s absolutely nothing sexy, fun or all that interesting about the new Apple Support app, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t one of the most useful apps we’ve seen in a while… if you’re an Apple user. As the name states, the app hooks you up with all things support. Find articles tailored to your individual devices and questions. Connect with a Support rep via phone, chat or email. For those issues that can’t be handled in the palm of your hand, you can even schedule service at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. iOS

Weather Wiz

Weather apps are common on all of the app stores, but few are as pretty as Weather Wiz thanks to the multiple theme options. You still get all the important weather data you need like hourly forecasts, “feels like” information and multi-layered weather radar, but the IBM weather data is rendered with cool visuals based on theme choices ranging from Polygonal and Space to Material and Monsters. Android
