The latest creation from the mad men and masterminds at CRKT is the Daktyl folding pocket knife. Designed to pay homage to the side opening blades that have come from the brand before–that’s why it looks so familiar–the Daktyl was designed and engineered by none other than inventing icon Tom Hitchcock. This seriously stripped down knife has a plain edge 420J2 stainless blade that’s situated securely in a 420 stainless handle that’s really, well, more of an outline of a handle. All those stripped down aspects seriously cut weight because this almost 7″ knife tips the scales at just under 2.5 ounces. It’s lightweight, durable and built with that innovative slide lock design for easy, one-handed opening and closing. But this wouldn’t be a true CRKT knife or Tom Hitchcock creation if the fun stopped there. The finger ring of the Daktyl also has a carabiner style gate built into it so you can easily hang the knife from a belt loop or use it to open beers.
