“Smoke” – Lobby Bar inside MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland

Like most states, smoking is not allowed in public places in the state of Maryland. But, that doesn’t mean bartenders can’t make this unique, delicious cocktail made up of Deanston 14-year-old single malt scotch, demerara syrup and bitters. On the surface, it seems like any scotch-based cocktail. But, during the mixing of this cocktail, the bartender pipes applewood smoke into the glass. But wait, it’s not just a basic rocks glass. This specially-designed glass is called a “Sherlock Holmes” glass and allows the drinker to feel as if they are smoking a pipe while they sip on this delicious, smoky cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Deanston 14YR organic single malt
  • ¼ oz. Demerara syrup
  • 2 dashes Bar Keep organic bitters
  • Type: Stirred

  • Garnish: Expressed orange peel inserted / smoke
