My family (both sides) are 6 or 7 generation Americans and consequently we have a lot of stuff that’s been passed down so choosing something to fit this “prized heritage” theme was not easy. I finally settled on something that was right in front of me all along, my father Thomas’s pure coin silver baby cup. These were probably the norm for a lot of households but fell out of popularity just like the sterling baby rattle and sterling baby spoon. I found his cup tarnished in the back of a cupboard years ago and it’s been my desk organizer ever since……still tarnished, just the way I like it.

In Heritage we ask folks we admire to share their most prized possession.

A pocket square is a touch of old school class. It’s an element that casually lets people know you’re a gentleman. This knife from Gerber borrows its name from the humble pocket square because it too is sharp and dressy. Eschewing superfluous design elements for a sleek, clean appearance, the Gerber Pocket Square Knife is refined and mature. The machined aluminum handle is paired with a 3” drop point blade and an ambidextrous thumb lift for one stunning folder. If James Bond relied on a pocket knife, this would be it.
